For a long time, Indonesians have been presenting rattan as an artisan craft material. as its great ability to bend and flex, that allows rattan to create explorative yet decorative form of furniture. However, this distinctive craftmanship slowly labeled rattan product as a vintage piece of works.
As time passes by, the age of contemporer forces the civilians to live in minimalism lifestyle, where everything around us should serve a purpose, and rattan for once again has gained its attention massively. Instead of being a forgotten culture, this material could probably penetrate through the market of contemporer era with younger targets.
With the idea of manipulating hard material to soft material in mind, it defines the design concept of bounciness. By manipulating and controlling the essential of natural rattan, it can create a collection of furniture which are able to represent a flexing effect without necessity of using cushion on seating furnitures.
